General Instructions

NRI applicants are requested to fill ONLINE application for re-issue of passport (Renewal/Lost/Damage/Minor). After filling-up the application online (https://embassy.passportindia.gov.in/), a web file no. is generated.

The completed application may be printed and submitted at the Embassy on any working day between 09.00 to 11.00 hours and at the Consulates on any working day between 09.30 to 12.00 hours along with other required documents.

Applicants may sometimes face difficulty in accessing the online application format due to technical reasons. In such circumstances, it is advisable to try after a while. Applicants are also advised to use computers with latest version software/ operating systems.

Applicants may please note that New Passport booklets are printed in India (Delhi). Applicants are intimated through e-mail/telephone/mobile on arrival of their passports from India. Requested to provide E-mail ID/Contact numbers during submission of ONLINE Application at the Embassy/Consulates

Time Schedule for delivery of passport services

Issue of New Passports/Renewal of Passports/Duplicate Passports in lieu of lost/damaged passports	2-3 Weeks
Other Misc. Services (including PCC) which are rendered after receiving clearance from the concerned Regional Passport Office in India/Passport Issuing Authority.	Within a day or after getting Clearance from RPO/PIA in India
Passport related Miscellaneous Services (which do not require references to India/other Missions)	1 Working Day
Attestation of documents/ Power of Attorney etc.	1 Working Day
Acceptance of Passport/Consular Applications	At Embassy counter on any working day between 0900 hrs to 1100 hours and at the Consulates on any working day between 09.30 hours to 12.00 hours.
Delivery of Passports/ Consular documents	Embassy: 1600 hrs to 1700 hrs on all working days (Monday to Friday) Consulate: 1500 hrs to 1700 hrs on all working days (Monday to Friday)
