Highlights of Indian Budget2015-16-“Opportunities for Chinese Companies”

Embassy of India, Beijing organized a Seminar on Highlights of Indian Budget2015-16-“Opportunities for Chinese Companies” inBeijing on 12th March, 2015.

While giving a general overview of the Indian Budget 2015-16, AmbassadorAshok K. Kantha underscored the positive business environment in India offeringa compelling rationale for Chinese companies to invest in India. Ambassador highlightedsix key areas where India and China could work together to boost bilateraltrade and economic engagement namely manufacturing, industrial parks andcorridors, railways, renewable energy, urban infrastructure and smart cityinitiatives and joint R&D.

Ms Namgya Khampa, Counsellor (Trade, Commerce & Economic)gave a brief presentation on Indian budget highlighting the opportunitiesavailable for Chinese companies for investment in India. Mr Rohan Solapurkarfrom Deloitte Management Services also gave a detailed analysis of the Indianbudget 2015-16.

Around 104 representatives from Chinese companies and industry chambers/associationsattended the Seminar.
