A delegation from Punjab led by Mr M M Mittal, Hon'ble Ministerof Industries & Commerce, Government of Punjab is currently visiting Chinafrom 23 to 29 August. The delegation has just completed the first leg of theirvisit to Changsha, Hunan province. They will also visit Shenzhen, Shanghai andBeijing.

The visit is aimed at promoting investment and business cooperationwith China. In Changsha, the delegation met with Vice Governor of Hunan, Mr He Baoxiang today, apart from holdingseveral business meetings. The Embassy of India organized a business andinvestment forum focused on Punjab attended by close to 150 businessrepresentatives, including leading companies like Sany and Zoomlion from Hunanthat have substantial India presence. Punjab briefed the participants on theemerging opportunities and incentives in Punjab, and invited companies toattend Punjab's flagship investment event - Progressive Punjab InvestmentSummit on 28-29 October 2015 in Mohali.

The delegation also had avery fruitful interaction with Changsha National High Tech IndustrialDevelopment Zone. Both sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding that willenable them to work together to promote trade and investment cooperationbetween Punjab and Hunan. Both sides will encourage active interaction of theirlocal industry and provide environment for exploring investment and businessopportunities in each other's State/Province. Changsha National High TechIndustrial development zone also evinced interest in participating in theProgressive Punjab Investment Summitto be held in October.
