Ambassador Ashok K. Kantha is visiting Guizhou from October 9-11, 2015 leading a delegation that includes representatives from Indian IT enterprises.

On October10, Ambassador, along with Executive Vice Governor of Guizhou, H.E. Mr. Qin Rupei, participated in a round table discussion with representatives of government of Guizhou and business enterprises based in Guizhou. Ambassador called for accelerating implementation of business-to-business agreements signed during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to China in May 2015, including the MoU between GIIC and GMR group on establishing an industrial park in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. The other agreements signed between Indian companies and Guizhou during Prime Minister’s visit include an MoU between Infosys and Guizhou on building a China-India Information Service Industry Corridor”, Institutional agreement between CII and Guizhou for promoting Indian IT companies participating in IT projects and an MoU for cooperation between NIIT and Gui’an New Area. Ambassador suggested ideas for further expanding cooperation between Guizhou and India, including making use of the industrial park that GIIC is executing in India in partnership with GMR to push for greater investments from Chinese enterprises, expanding sub-national engagement between Guizhou and Indian states and increasing high level exchanges between Guizhou and India.Vice Governor Qin Rupei called for making cooperation in industrial parks as an important platform for expanding engagement between Guizhou and India as well as closer cooperation between Guizhou and states of India.

Ambassador visited the headquarters of GIIC in Guiyang and heard a report of the work done by GIIC in establishing the industrial park in Kakinada SEZ,Andhra Pradesh, for hi-end Chinese equipment manufacturers, pursuant to the MoU signed between GIIC and GMR Group of India.

Ambassador also visited the Gui’an New Area. He called for exploring opportunities for cooperation between Indian entities and Gui’an New Area including in big data.Vice Governor Qin Rupei, who is also the Secretary of the CPC Party Committee of Gui’an New Area, hosted a dinner in honour of Ambassador and the delegation.
