Press Release Make in India India-ChinaTrade & Investment Forum in Wuhan

The Embassy organized ‘India-China Trade and Investment Forum’ in Wuhan on 29th October 2015 as part of outreach events under the Make in India initiative of the government. Wuhan,a major transportation hub, is a center for economy, trade, finance,information technology, and education in China.

Ms Namgya Khampa, Counsellor (Trade, Commerce & Economic)in her keynote address highlighted the opportunities for Wuhan and Hubei based companies in India and identified areas for enhanced collaboration. Mr Tu Shanfeng, Deputy Secretary General of the Wuhan Municipal People’s Government also addressed the event.

A presentation on recent economic initiatives in manufacturing and investment and the sectoral priorities under the Make in India initiative was made by Ms Chitrangna Singh, Second Secretary (Trade & Commerce). Representatives of Indian companies like Tata Group and Jindal Power and Steel Ltd also made presentations.

The event was attended by 130 business representatives, China Council for Promotion of International Trade Hubei Sub Council and officials from Wuhan Municipal People’s Government,and local media, including leading local companies like WISCO, FiberHome and others.
