Make in India Seminar in Beijing Oversubscribed

The Embassy of India organized an Invest India seminar on Nov 3, 2016 in Beijing on the sidelines of the 3rd Meeting of the India-China Joint Working Group on Industrial Parks. The seminar received an overwhelming response with more than 280 Chinese investors and enterprises attending. This enthusiastic attendance was nearly double the anticipated 150 enterprises for whom the seminar was originally planned for.

This seminar came close on the heels of another such seminar organized by Embassy of India to promote Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit less than a month ago. The excellent response to these events is reflective of the growing interest among Chinese enterprises to invest in India.

The main speakers at the Invest India seminar were Mrs. Ravneet Kaur, Joint Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion and Mr. Alkesh Kumar Sharma, CEO, Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor Corp. Mrs Ravneet Kaur highlighted the tremendous opportunities in India for Chinese investors and invited Chinese enterprises to make in India.

A detailed presentation on 'Make in India' was made by Department of Industrial Policy Promotion. Presentations were also made on 'Law and Regulatory Framework in India', 'Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor', 'Investment Opportunities in the States of Maharashtra and Gujarat'. These were followed by a lively Q&A session.

The Embassy of India in Beijing will be organizing another 'India- China Trade, Economic and Investment Cooperation' Seminar in Zhengzhou, Henan Province on 4th November 2016.
