Press Release: India-China Trade Investment and Economic Cooperation Seminar in Zhengzhou gets overwhelming response

The Embassy of India, in collaboration with the Henan Provincial Government, organized an India-China Trade, Investment and Economic Cooperation Seminar in Zhengzhou on November 04, 2016.This seminar was organized in continuation of the 3rd Meeting of the India-China Joint Working Group on Industrial Parks and 'Invest in India Seminar' organized in Beijing.

The seminar received an overwhelming response with more than 300 Chinese investors and enterprises attending.

This seminar came close on the heels of another such seminar organized by Embassy of India to promote Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit less than a month ago. The excellent response to these events is reflective of the growing interest among Chinese enterprises to invest in India.

The main speakers at the Invest India seminar were Mrs. Ravneet Kaur, Joint Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion and Mr. Alkesh Kumar Sharma, CEO, Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor Corp. Mrs Ravneet Kaur highlighted the tremendous opportunities in India for Chinese investors and invited Chinese enterprises to make in India.

A detailed presentation on 'Make in India' was made by Department of Industrial Policy Promotion. Presentations were also made on the 'Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor' , and 'Investment Opportunities in the States of Maharashtra and Gujarat'.

Three Chinese companies including Henan Senyuan Group,Henan Tianrui Group, and China Railway Engineering Equipment Group also made detailed presentations and expressed strong interest in investing in India.

These were followed by a lively Q&A session with Chinese enterprises asking specific questions on areas of interest for investment.

This was Embassy of India's maiden Make in India event in the province of Henan which lies in the Chinese heartland and ranks 5th in terms of provincial GDP. The province has a well developed industrial base with strength in electronic information, automobile and equipment manufacturing, modern logistics, agriculture based industries and cultural and creative tourism.
