Advisory For Indian Nationals Travelling To Hong Kong

With effect from January 23, 2017, the Immigration Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government has made Pre-Arrival Registration a compulsory requirement for all Indian nationals who intend to visit Hong Kong visa-free for 14 days.

The online platform for pre-arrival registration has been opened on December 19, 2016. Please visit http://www.immd.gov.hk/eng/services/visas/pre-arrival_registration_for_indian_nationals.html externalicon for further details on Pre-Arrival Registration for Indian nationals. Please also refer to the Guidance Notes issued by the HKSAR Immigration Department at http://www.immd.gov.hk/eng/forms/forms/id-e-1023.html externalicon before submitting your applications.

After filling the online application form at the website  externaliconwww.gov.hk/en/apps/immdindianparreg.html and successfully registering, applicants should get a printout of the Notification Slip for Pre-Arrival Registration thus generated. This slip should be presented along with its linked passport at all modes of transport (aircraft, ship, vehicle etc) bound for Hong Kong and upon arrival for immigration clearance.

Indian passports holders without the Pre-Arrival Registration Slip, except those belonging to any of the exempted categories, would not be allowed to board a conveyance bound for Hong Kong.

A Pre-Arrival Registration is normally valid for a six month period or until the expiry date of the Indian passport linked to it, whichever is earlier.

Kindly also note that an Indian national coming to HKSAR for a stay exceeding 14 days or for a purpose other than visit (e.g. for employment, study, or to take up residence in HKSAR must apply to the Immigration Department for an appropriate visa.
