Press Release: Decoding India Budget 2017 for Chinese investors

Embassy of India, Beijing organised 'India Budget 2017', a presentation-cum-panel discussion on the Union Budget 2017, on 27 February, 2017 in the Embassy. The event is part of a series of events held annually by the Embassy subsequent to the tabling of the Annual Financial Statement in the Parliament.

Deputy Chief of Mission Mr. Amit Narang welcomed the gathering. Mr. Enwright Desales, Partner, Deloitte gave the presentation on the highlights of Union Budget 2017-18 and investment opportunities in India. The presentation was followed by a panel discussion moderated by Mr. Enright Desales. As part of the panel were Mr. James Zhan, President, China Tata Sons Ltd., Ms. Li Jingjing, Vice President, Sany Group and Mr. Liu Lin, Partner, Deloitte. The panelists discussed their experiences of investing in India. The audience showed keen interest in knowing more about the GST and the investment scenario in India. The panelists interacted with the audience and responded to questions.

The event was well attended by around hundred people from the Chinese business community, banks, Chambers of commerce and leading companies such as CRRC, China Energy Engineering Corporation, SDIC Power Holdings Co., Ltd, Beiqi Foton, Great Wall Motor Company, etc.
