The Embassy of India in association with ICCR and China Federation of Literary and Arts Circles is organizing the Colors of India Festival in China from 15-26 May, 2017. The festival will be held a cross different venues in two cities of Beijing and Nanjing. An ICCR delegation of 65 artists led by Deputy Director General of ICCR will visit China for the festival.

The Colors of India Festival will showcase a unique blend of Indian performing arts, Bollywood movies and photography exhibition to Chinese audiences. The festival comprises of Photo Exhibition: Buddhist Heritage of India, Indian Film Festival with screening of five popular Indian movies and Gala Cultural Performance by Indian artists.

The festival will begin in Beijing with the opening of exhibition on key Buddhist Heritage sites in India and Buddhist-themed sculptures. The photos are the work of art by eminent photographer Mr. Benoy Behl and display India’s rich Buddhist art, architecture and sculpture. The Indian Film Festival will screen five of the most popular Indian movies in recent years. Each film represents a unique genre of romance, comedy, action thriller, adventure and drama. The festival will culminate with a Gala Cultural Performance by Indian artists in both the cities. The gala show is a fusion of Indian classical dance and Bollywood musical.

The gala show includes Charishnu, a spectacular dance and music presentation choreographed by Bharatnatyam exponent Ms. Leela Samson. The various groups of artists will perform a selection of the classical, folk and martial dance forms of India.The show will conclude with ‘Love Story’, a Bollywood Musical produced by Teamwork Arts The highlights of the show are gorgeous colours and exotic costumes, spectacular fight sequences, tear jerking romance and a scintillating collection of show stopping songs, foot tapping tunes and love ballads choreographed into stunning dance routines.

Colors of India Festival is being organised for the first time in China providing a glimpses of many shades and hues of diverse Indian art and culture.
