    Visit of India’s Deputy National Security Advisor to China; May 21-22, 2018

    Deputy National Security Adviser and Secretary of the National Security Council Secretariat H.E. Mr. Rajinder Khanna led the Indian delegation to the meeting of Secretaries of National Security Councils of SCO members held in Beijing on 21-22 May 2018 under the Chairmanship of State Councillor and Minister of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China H.E. Mr. Zhao Kezhi. This was the first such meeting of SCO with the participation of India as a full member.

    At the meeting, the participants exchanged views on ways to strengthen the SCO cooperation in the fight against terrorism, drug trafficking and transnational organized crime. They discussed the security situation in Afghanistan as well as other topical issues of regional and international importance. They also reviewed the preparations for the forthcoming SCO Summit in Qingdao on 9-10 June 2018 and the signing of outcome documents in the field of security.

    On the sidelines of the meeting of Secretaries of National Security Councils of SCO members, the Deputy National Security Adviser also had a bilateral meeting with State Councillor and Minister of Public Security of China H.E. Mr. Zhao Kezhi and discussed law enforcement and counter-terrorism cooperation between the two countries. The Deputy NSA reiterated the invitation to the Chinese Minister of Public Security to visit India at an early date.
